🔥 How Sizzle Works
Home theater gear is expensive. Receivers, speakers, projectors, storage. It adds up fast. And prices change constantly. A TV that costs $1,200 today might be $849 next month. Or it was $849 last month and you just missed it.
CinemaBacon exists so you don't have to guess. We watch prices so you don't have to.
Every product on the site gets a Sizzle Score, a single number that tells you how good today's price is compared to its history. No spreadsheets. No multiple browser tabs. Just a number: the higher it is, the hotter the deal.
A high Sizzle Score means the price is unusually low, potentially the lowest it's ever been. A low score means the price is up there and history says it'll come back down. Think of it as your gut check before you pull the trigger.
“Should I buy this now or wait?” The Sizzle Score answers that question without you having to do any research.
How the score is calculated
The score runs from 0 to 100 and is calculated per listing, using only that listing's own price history over the trailing 360 days. A new drive is never scored against recertified or used drives.
- ›Up to 50 points: how far today's price is below the 360-day average
- ›Up to 35 points: how close today's price is to the 360-day low
- ›Up to 10 points: discount versus the manufacturer's list price, when known
- ›Up to 5 points: retailer reliability
A score needs at least 7 days of price history; until then a listing shows no score.
- ›🔥🔥🔥 90+: exceptional deal
- ›🔥🔥 80–89: strong deal
- ›🔥 70–79: good deal
